In conjunction with the programs on April 5th celebrating our NYC historical collections and the researchers that plumb their depths, our librarians and curators have selected a few items to share with the public. In the Map Division, you'll find a collection of maps and postcards from the the 19th and early 20th century. In the Milstein Division, highlights from their political ephemera collection, postcards, street photographs, and an early directory of residents of Williamsburg, will be on view alongside documents from the Manuscripts and Archives Divison. Items from from this collection speak to the work of Michael Miscione on the life and work of Andrew Green, and of Betsy Blackmar who researched the history of the real estate market in 19th century New York City. Both Miscione and Blackmar will be presenting on their historical research on the afternoon of April 5th.
