- Summary
- Martz brings together for the first time all the shorter poems and poetical sequences of Hilda Doolittle written before 1945, along with textual notes and an introductory essay relating the significances of H.D.'s life to her literary achievement. Divided into four parts, the volume brings back into print the Collected Poems of 1925 and Red Roses for Bronze, 1931. Tracing H.D.'s work from her early imagistic mode, the prophetic style of her hidden years in the 1930s, the volume includes "Uncollected and Unpublished Poems (1912-1944)," the wartime poems and her mature accomplishment Trilogy. ISBN 0-8112-0876-1 : $35.00.
