Views of Springfield, Mass. and vicinity: includes general views from Long Hill showing the Connecticut River, farms, mills; industrial bldgs. after fire, 1875; a dam on the Connecticut River, man in a rowboat; three dams on the Mill River; bridge with train passing over it, view of depot from the bridge, engine #88, the "Eclipse," men at railroad crossing barrier on the street, the Boston & Albany railroad office; street views including Main st. and Bridge St.; buildings: Bill's block, Connecticut Mutual life insurance (gas lamp in foreground), Massachusetts Mutual life insurance, the Institution for savings, the Five Cent Bank and Republican block, the Hampden Co. courthouse, city hall, the public library including view of gothic interior, Hooker school house, the "new" high school, the intersection of Main and Bridge sts. showing hardware (?) store and cigar manf. and store; churches: First church, State St. Baptist, State st. Methodist, North Congregational, Mattoon St., Church of the Unity (Unitarian), Trinity Methodist, South Church on High St.; Court square; W.S. Butler "photograph car" on Main St.; homes: Bishop's house, residence of L.J.
