Summary

1. In introduction Mr. Terry discusses Igor Youskevitch's career and background, Ruth St. Denis, famous ballet partners and relates some anecdotes about partnering. Igor Youskevitch discusses the qualities of a good male partner, the difference between partnering in a classical pas de deux, and in a dramatic pas de deux, the technique of partnering for turns, jumps, and balancing. Maria Youskevitch discusses her training. Together they demonstrate entrances, basic holds, pirouettes, balancing lifts. Program closes with performance of the adagio from The nutcracker.
