  1. Disc 1 (approximately 47 minutes). John Gruen speaks with Starr Danias about her family and early dance training, in New York City including her teacher, Nathalie Branitzka, her scholarships to the High School of the Performing Arts and the School of American Ballet; Alexandra Danilova; her relationship with Balanchine; her time at the London Festival Ballet including some of her roles and her extensive touring; meeting Robert Joffrey in London; returning to New York City and joining the Joffrey Ballet, in 1970; her thoughts on dancing with the Joffrey Ballet and working with Gerry [Gerald Arpino] including her love of performing; the company members; more on Arpino and their relationship; Robert Joffrey's great sense of humor; the origins of her name, Starr, and her Greek heritage; the relatively high turnover in the company [ends abruptly].
  2. Disc 2 (approximately 9 minutes). John Gruen speaks with Starr Danias about her relationship with Dennis Wayne, in particular as a partner in [John Butler's work] After Eden; her enjoyment of performing dramatic roles and of having roles created for her [at approximately 7 minutes, 15 seconds into the track, the interview appears to end, but after a short gap continues with a brief discussion of Danias's partners].

  3. Sound quality is fair. The speakers' voices are easily audible, but the recording is marred by ambient noise due to the fact that the interview is being conducted in a restaurant. There are occasional short gaps.
