Streaming audio file (approximately 31 minutes). John Mattsons [phonetic spelling] introduces Henry Berg, who speaks briefly; Mattsons speaks about Brandeis University and the creative arts including the establishing of the Creative Arts awards; introduces William Schumann; Schumann speaks about the performing arts in academia and the Brandeis University Creative Arts awards; John Mattsons introduces Marver Bernstein who presents the awards; the architecture award is given to Robert Venturi, who speaks briefly; a medal of achievement for distinguished contribution in architecture is given to Philip Johnson who speaks briefly; the award for dance is given to Eliot Feld, who accepts with a very brief speech of thanks. A citation and medal of achievement for distinguished contribution in dance is then presented to Antony Tudor who makes a brief acceptance speech including his intent to give the money awarded to the dance division of The New York Public Library [announcement of non-fiction award to Susan Sontag; applause] .
