Documentary on Het Nationale Ballet [the Dutch National Ballet]. The dancers, choreographers, and staff are shown in class, rehearsal, in performance, on tour to Warsaw and New York (Minskoff Theater), and at leisure. Choreographers Rudi van Dantzig, Toer van Schayk, and Hans van Manen are shown in and outside of rehearsals with company members including Clint Farha, Valerie Valentine, Han Ebbelaar, Alexandra Radius, Karin Schnabel, Joanne Zimmerman, Henny Jurriëns, Jeanette Vondersaar, Zoltan Peter, Maria Aradi, Francis Sinceretti, Graham Lustig, Wade Walthall, Jan Willem de Roo. Sections of First aerial station (Schayk), Symphony in C (Balanchine) and other ballets are shown in rehearsal and performance. Twilight (Manen), to music by John Cage, is performed in its entirety by Alexandra Radius and Han Ebbelaar.
