Tribute to Leonard Bernstein by Lauren Bacall ; performances of an excerpt from The mass, the overture from Candide, a song by Jamie Bernstein, and the song New York, New York -- Tribute to Agnes De Mille by Kitty Carlisle Hart, highlighting her contribution to Broadway and concert stage dance. An excerpt from Rodeo and the movie version of Oklahoma! is shown. De Mille's ballet Texas fourth is performed onstage by the Agnes De Mille Heritage Dance Theater, featuring Susi McCarter, Eric Nesbett, and Mel Tomlinson -- Tribute to Leontyne Price by Zubin Mehta ; aria from The marriage of Figaro, sung by Donald Gramm -- Pas de deux from Manon (choreography, Kenneth MacMillan) danced by Natalia Makarova and Anthony Dowell -- Tribute to Lynn Fontanne -- Tribute to James Cagney by Pat O'Brien, Mikhail Baryshnikov, and John Travolta. Cagney is seen dancing in an excerpt from the film Yankee doodle dandy, and an excerpt from the musical Tintypes, featuring Jerry Zaks, is performed.
