- 102 photographs of dance and dance-related subjects from various villages on the Indonesian island of Bali, taken mainly in the 1930s by Angelica Archipenko, Allen Atwell, Claire Holt, Oetker, Walter Spies, Travellers Official Information Bureau of the Netherlands East Indies, Zindler, and other uncredited photographers. The dances represented are the Baris, Baris dadap, Baris jangkang, Baris melampahan, Baris omang, Baris presi, Géréboeg, Janger, Joged bungbung, Kebyar (performed by I Mario and Wisnu Wardhana), Kecak, Legong, Rejang, and Tantri. The Barong and Rangda, mythical antagonists from the Calonarang dance-drama also appear. The gamelan (orchestra) is depicted in seven photographs. I Mario appears in 3 informal photographs taken in 1956.
