  1. 77 photographs (4 color) and contact prints of Wayang kulit (shadow) puppets, some taken in performance, by Alfred Hudson and uncredited photographers. Many of the characters derive from the Hindu epic, the Mahabharata.
  2. 48 photographs, by Claire Holt or G. H. R. von Koenigswald, of Wayang beber (scroll plays), accompanied by Holt's typewritten notes on R. A. Kern's "De Wajang Beber van Patjitan", published in the Tijdschrift voor Indische Tod-, Land- en Volkenkunde (1909), and her synopsis of a Wayang beber play she witnessed in 1937.
  3. 29 photographs and contact prints on Wayang golek (rod puppets), by Holt, the Travellers Official Information Bureau of the Netherlands East Indies, and uncredited photographers. These depict puppets in the collection of Mangkunagara VII of Surakarta, a performance at Cianjur in West Java, and the dalang (puppeteer) Pa. Widiprajitno.
