Danced by Dalienne Majors (the matriarch), Nina Watt and Raymond Johnson (young lovers), with Ann DeGange, Edward DeSoto, Dian Dong, Randall Faxon, Ryland Jordan, Pamela Knisel, Rael Lamb, Marc Stevens, Ted Striggles, Linda Tarnay, Peter Woodin, Debra Zalkind, and students from the Festival. - New dance (approx. 33 1/2 min.). Choreography: Doris Humphrey (prelude and third theme by Charles Weidman). Reconstructed in 1972 by Weidman, Edith (Orcutt) Cluman, and Beatrice Seckler. Variations and conclusion staged by Jennifer Muller and Christine Clark under the authorization of the Dance Notation Bureau. Costumes: Pauline Lawrence, reconstructed by Betty Williams. Filmed on June 30, 1972. Danced by Tarnay (in Humphrey's role), Woodin (in Weidman's role), and others.
