Documentary on the creation of Sudden difficulties, a performance piece commissioned in 1983 by the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, from artist Elaine Spatz-Rabinowitz and theater director Peter Sellars. The description of the project, with statements by its creators, is followed by a performance staged and edited for television.
