The recording consists only of Mueller's commentaries and does not show the films screened during this session, which were: Early dance films, depicting skirt and variety dancing from the turn of the century; scenes of Denishawn, 1915 and 1931; The incense, perf. by Ruth St. Denis, 1953; four solos from Shifting landscape, perf. by Mary Wigman, 1929; Reflections on Bennington by José Limón and Charles Weidman; examples of Humphrey-Weidman technique, mid-1930s; Air for the G string, perf. by Doris Humphrey and others. Mueller also refers to other dance films of interest to scholars.
