Description
  1. 1 videocassette (U-matic, NTSC) (29 min.) : sd., col.; 3/4 in.
Summary
  1. Michael Schwartz, a video maker, and Matthew Diamond, now a television director, discuss their backgrounds in dance and their present careers in video. They compare different types of videos they have made (documentation of dances, promotional videos, music videos), noting the different challenges these offer. They discuss the advantages of a dance background in making videos, their observations of changing attitudes towards videodance, and their current projects. Excerpts depict Schwartz's promotional video for Margaret Jenkins, featuring her piece First figure; Ringside, a collaboration between Schwartz and Elizabeth Streb; and Out in the street, a music video choreographed by Diamond and directed by Bruce Barry. In Esoterica balletica, Stephanie Woodard continues the videodance theme by screening an excerpt from her work In orbit.
