Filmmaker Henry Hills and choreographers Mary Ellen Strom and Jeff McMahon talk about their experiences in making video- and cinedances, including the challenges of photographing dance, the different responses of dancers and media people, the difference in choreographing for the stage and for film or video, financing, finding outlets for their work, and using special effects. Strom discusses her collaboration with Cyndi Lee, with whom she has also produced music videos. The many video- and cinedance excerpts include Strom's Steady on, Sister Suzie cinema, and Girls just wanna have fun, performed by Cyndi Lauper and others; Hills's SSS and Money; McMahon's Tell me moving (b&w), performed by John Bernd and Kaja Gam; John Sanborn and Mary Perillo's Do you love me, which was choreographed by Strom; and other works.
