Summary
  1. Canadians Linda Mancini, a performance artist, and Roxane d'Orleans Juste, a dancer, compare their experiences of establishing their careers in New York with those of Harry Whittaker Sheppard, an American who began his career in Europe. They compare audiences abroad with those of New York, describe the benefits that they have found in New York, and debate the importance of technique and body type as criteria for success. Sheppard talks about his work with choreographer Yoshiko Chuma. Each guest is seen in recorded excerpts: Sheppard in You-you o solo mio, directed by Chuma; Juste in Dances by Isadora Duncan, staged by Annabelle Gamson, and with the Limón Dance Company in Limón's There is a time and Carlos Orta's El ultimo canto; and Mancini in her performance pieces Grace and Cake.
