Summary
Dance-drama based on an episode from the Hindu epic The Mahābhārata. Sadewa, one of the five Pandawa brothers, is confronted by the evil spirit Rangda, and transforms himself into the Barong, a mythical being, in order to vanquish her. The dance-drama is preceded by the appearance of the Barong, a monkey, and comic characters, and a legong danced by two girls.
Filmed in the village of Sigapadu, Bali, in April 1975.
