  1. A "frolic" in territorial times (ca. 6 min.) / produced by AETN [Arkansas Educational Television Network] in cooperation with Arkansas Country Dance Society ; historical re-creation of a frolic or party in Arkansas in 1820 ; dances performed include the Virginia reel.
  2. Jigging and clogging (ca. 7 min.) / produced in cooperation with the Ozark Folk Center by the Arkansas Country Dance Society and AETN ; a comparison of different step dancing forms of the region: jigging (also called Ozark jigging), clogging, and old-time clogging.
  3. Old-time square dance (ca. 6 min.) / produced by AETN in cooperation with Arkansas Country Dance Society, c1991 ; historical re-creation and present-day footage of old-time square dancing, which is contrasted to contemporary square dancing. Dances performed include the Arkansas traveler, and various figures are demonstrated by the dancers.
  4. Play-party games (ca. 5 min.) / produced by AETN in cooperation with Arkansas Country Dance Society ; a survey of singing and dancing games, as performed by children and teenagers, with commentary on their social functions by folklorist Bill McNeil.
  5. Victorian ball (ca. 5 min.) / produced by Arkansas Country Dance Society and AETN ; a historical re-creation of a 19th-century ball, staged at the Hanger House in Little Rock ; dances include the cotillion or German, schottische, polka, line or contra dance, and waltz.
  6. Riverboat days (ca. 12 min.) / produced by AETN in cooperation with Arkansas Country Dance Society, c1993 ; a historical re-creation of the entertainments associated with riverboats in the 19th century, including banjo music, step dancing by an Irish dancing master and his female assistant, Ozark jigging by a local fiddler, and a broomstick waltz.
  7. Modern western square dance (ca. 7 min.) / produced by AETN in cooperation with Arkansas Country Dance Society, c1992 ; survey of the development of modern square dancing in Arkansas, with commentaries by Vince Vinciquerra, president of the Arkansas State Square Dance Federation, and square dance caller Bill Wilder, who explains the difference between pattern calling and singing calling. Governor Bill Clinton is seen signing a 1991 bill making square dancing the state dance of Arkansas.
  8. Black dancing traditions (ca. 8 min.) / produced by AETN in cooperation with Arkansas Country Dance Society, c1993 ; overview of different types of black dance in Arkansas, beginning with show dancing, represented by Ulysses "Slow Kid" Thompson and composer Sonny Boy Williamson. Senior citizens demonstrate social dances of the 1940s; C. Michael Tidwell rehearses students in a theatrical dance. Commentaries are provided by Tidwell, storyteller Curtiss Tate, and Dr. Gwendolyn Twillie, who describes the characteristics of African dance. Examples of fraternity step dancing and social dancing close the program.
