Note

1. Parts of Exodus and Leviticus were printed in 1829, of Genesis and the Psalter in 1830, and of Joshua in 1831. As soon as the New Testament was completed in 1832, the missionaries concentrated their diligence on the Old Testament, so that the translation was finished in 1839. The translators were: H. Bingham, A. Thurston, A. Bishop, W. Richards, L. Andrews, E.W. Clarke, J.S. Greene, and S. Dibble. The first edition of the Old Testament appeared in two volumes; the first in 1838 and the second in 1839.
