- Papers collected and arranged by Teiji's widow, Cherel Ito, include: biography of and comments on Teiji Ito, certificate of citizenship, clippings, photographs, drawings by Teiji Ito, interview transcripts, lecture notes, articles, and music scores. Material about Teiji's uncle Michio, mother Teiko, and father Yuji and about Maya Deren's films are included. Nearly one third of the collection consists of manuscript music scores composed or arranged by Yuji Itō, who published under the name Yuji Itow. There are also manuscript score by Tai Koh, Tai Ito, and Scriabin (in the hand of Michio Itō); and published scores by Lao Chih-ch'eng and Albert Kaufman and of the song Dark Eyes.

- Teiji Itō, 1935-1982, was a Tokyo-born composer who resided in New York City. His compositional style reflects Japanese, African, American Indian, and American influences. A percussion performer, he was particularly interested in the use of percussion instruments in various cultures. Itō composed music for some of the experimental films of his first wife Maya Deren, who died in 1961. Much of his dance and theater music was composed for productions by the Open Eye Company (theatrical troupe) and at the Theater of the Open Eye in New York City.
