Summary

1. Profile of Veronica Tennant, a principal dancer with the National Ballet of Canada. Tennant, then aged 25, discusses the sacrifices and discipline entailed by a dancer's life, coping with injuries, her quest to transcend technique and communicate artistically, and some ballets she is currently performing: Flemming Flindt's The lesson, Giselle, and Roland Petit's Le loup. Additional commentaries are provided by her husband, Dr. John Wright, and Celia Franca, who is seen coaching Tennant in technique and in a variation from Giselle. The program is interspersed with views of children's classes at the National Ballet School of Canada, where Tennant trained from the age of 10, and rehearsal and performance footage of The lesson and Le loup.
