Summary

1. Documentary about the Royal Winnipeg Ballet's goodwill tour of Jamaica in January 1963. Most of the program is a travelogue of the various sites visited by company members, including the home of the prime minister of Jamaica, a military camp in Newcastle, Old Fort Charles, a sugar plantation, a bauxite plant, and a crafts market. Company members, who are orally identified in candid footage, include artistic director Arnold Spohr, principal dancer Sonia Taverner, and guest artist Marilyn Young. Dance sequences include views of company class, a local ballet class at Madame Soubi's studio in Kingston, and excerpts from the Canadians' performance of George Balanchine's Pas de dix.
