Description
  1. 2 videocassettes (VHS) (122 min.) : si., b&w SP; 1/2 in.
Summary
  1. Amateur movies shot at Noel Coward's residences, around the world, at parties with celebrity friends (most seen only fleetingly), and at various theaters in London and New York, during rehearsals and performances of Noel Coward's plays. Haphazardly edited, following no chronological or thematic scheme, with some clips recurring two or three times. Occasional intertitles during travel sequences (e.g. "The Royal Pagoda, Bangkok") identify locales.
  2. Second cassette features several shots of Noel Coward onstage with Lynn Fontanne during a performance of Design for living in its premiere engagement at New York's Ethel Barrymore Theatre (1933). Also includes a shot of the marquee in front of the Times Square Theater advertising the 1931 production of Privtae lives. This is followed by extensive performance footage, including scene changes, of Words and music (1932) at the Adelphi Theatre, London. Several musical production numbers are shown, each one introduced with an intertitle identifying the song and its key performers, who include Joyce Barbour, John Mills, Romney Brent, and Steffi Duna.
