  1. 1864 is the date of publication of the first edition. The plates were executed 1815-1824 according to Tomás Harris, Goya: engravings and lithographs.
  2. Titles from Loys Delteil, Le peintre-graveur illustré, v. XIV and v. XV.
  3. For some prints Loys Delteil uses the rebiting of the plate to distinguish states, although no rebiting ever occurred according to Tomás Harris, Goya: engravings and lithographs.
  4. Included in this bound edition are a dated title page and an end sheet bearing an unidentified watermark.
  5. The binding bears the bookplate of Samuel Putnam Avery.
