Summary
  1. Informal performance of African and African-American dances, which are orally introduced by Chuck Davis and others. Most of the dancers are children or teenagers, many of them members of the BAM/Restoration DanceAfrica Ensemble. The musicians include members of Djoulé African. Among the numbers are: African-American step dancing ; Fanga, a dance of welcome from Liberia ; the royal dance of the warriors of the Watusi [Tutsi] people ; dances from the Congo and the old Mali empire. The performance concludes with impromptu dancing (solos and groups) by a succession of audience members and Chuck Davis.
