Summary

Unedited footage recorded by Landseer Films (Ross MacGibbon) for Rudolf Nureyev, variations on an enigma, a promotional video commissioned by Christie's in connection with two auctions of Rudolf Nureyev's collections, held in New York in January 1995 and in London in November 1995. This video contains close-ups of selected items from Nureyev's collection: garments, engravings, and kilims. The three engravings, reproduced in Christie's catalog for the New York sale, are Lot 205, The Farnesian Hercules (ca. 1592) by Hendrik Goltzius, and two of the three prints in Lot 206, The rape of the Sabine women, after A. de Vries (1593), by Jan Muller.
