  1. 1 videocassette (105 min.) : sd., b&w and col. NTSC; 1/2 in. (VHS)
Summary
  1. In an autobiographical story that moves between Paris, London and Buenos Aires, Sally Potter portrays a filmmaker whose attraction to the Argentine tango is intertwined with her love affair with a male dancer (Pablo Veron). The film includes many scenes of the Argentine tango in stage performances and social contexts, and in class and rehearsal. Potter and Veron also perform a "dance" in an airport, and Veron tap-dances in an apartment with kitchen implements and on a mantel. Following the film is a 3-min. music video by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, playing Astor Piazzolla's Libertango, from the original soundtrack of The tango lesson. The music video features b&w excerpts from the film intercut with color footage of Yo-Yo Ma.
