Description
  1. 1 videocassette (16 min.) : sd., col. with b&w sequences NTSC; 1/2 in. (VHS)
Summary
  1. An exploration behind the scenes of the Paris Opéra, mingling dream and reality as seen through the eyes of Princess Aurora, the heroine of The sleeping beauty. Meditations on Charles Perrault's fairy tale, the basis of the ballet's scenario, are followed by scenes of studio rehearsals, in practice clothes, of excerpts from the ballet: the Rose adagio, the grand pas de deux, the vision scene, the Bluebird pas de deux. A mime scene between Carabosse and the Lilac Fairy is rehearsed in costume. The film also includes b&w footage of Rudolf Nureyev dancing excerpts from The sleeping beauty with the International Ballet of the Marquis de Cuevas in 1961.
