Description
  1. 1 videocassette (80 min.) : sd., col. NTSC; 1/2 in. (VHS)
Summary
  1. Compilation of footage shot at various social dance halls or "milongas" in Buenos Aires during practice sessions run by dance teachers. The dancers are not professional performers. The dances include tangos, milongas, and waltzes, described as "three dances which share a common vocabulary of steps but are danced to different music." Following the hour-long compilation is "A dancer's journey to Buenos Aires: Bridge to the Argentine Tango" (ca. 20 min.), a depiction of some of the activities offered on the annual Puente al Tango/Bridge to the Tango tours led by Daniel Trenner and Rebecca Shulman. The tour group is seen participating in dance lessons, discussions, and practice sessions, and watching performances on the street and in clubs.
