Summary

[Commercials] Hering discusses the membership, function, and goals of the National Association for Regional Ballet; regional dance companies; the Association's summer conference, choreography workshops, and curriculum. Cullberg considers the difficulties in teaching choreography; her training in ballet and modern dance and with Kurt Jooss; her approach to choreography; her choice of music for her work School for wives [music]. Watson analyzes the role of music in dance, the collaborative relationship between choreographer and composer; teaching music to dancers; her compositions Don't touch and Snow [music, weather, commercials, and news]. Hering discusses the rising popularity of dance and professionalism of regional companies throughout the United States. Cullberg describes her work Red wine in green glasses created specifically for the camera. Watson describes her work Escapades [commercials]. Hering, Cullberg, and Watson discuss the upcoming conference and the roles they will play. Throughout the interview selections from scores by Watson that were used in Cullberg' s choreography are played.
