Jerome Robbins discusses working with Hammerstein on the show, The king & I (1951); how Hammerstein wrote the script in collaboration with Robbins and dance arranger Trude Rittman; Hammerstein's working style and attitude; Robbins' work on various numbers as choreographer for the show; Hammerstein's sense of humor; Robbins work on various shows with Richard Rodgers and Hammerstein; anecdotes about The king and I; the financial agreement Robbins made to choreograph the show; more anecdotes about the show and the changes Robbins' made to Hammerstein's original script; [interview is interrupted abruptly by the following interview].
