  5. Segment one: The McCreary report, aired Channel 5, January 9, 1988, 9:00 a.m. Marian Etoile Watson interviews A.J. Antoon, director of A midsummer night's dream at the Public Theater. The production was the inaugural play in the New York Shakespeare Festival's Shakespeare Marathon, in which the entire Shakespeare canon was scheduled to be performed in six years. Antoon discusses his decision to set the play in turn-of-the-century Brazil, multiracial casting, and the experience of working with producer Joseph Papp. Brief performance footage, including F. Murray Abraham (Bottom), Carl Lumbly (Oberon), Elizabeth McGovern (Helena), Geoffrey Owens (Puck), and Lorraine Toussaint (Titania).
