Review of a mixed bill presented by the Royal Ballet in homage to Rudolf Nureyev's achievements as dancer, choreographer, teacher, and producer. The program consisted of George Balanchine's Apollo; Nureyev's Raymonda Act III; excerpts from La sylphide, Le corsaire, Kenneth MacMillan's Images of love, and William Forsythe's In the middle, somewhat elevated; as well as Irek Mukhamedov's solo Poème tragique and Pierre Darde's Surge, a solo danced by Laurent Hilaire.
