1. Text variations occur in this issue of the Methuen English 1962 edition as compared to the New York Viking 1962 edition. The Red Cross woman character of the New York edition is replaced by a male character, Public Relations, with altered physical descriptions. Cancel sheets on p. 35-36 and 85-86 make these changes. A third reference to the character on p. 122 of the English edition was overlooked and retains the female version. Cf. Ken Lopez Modern Literature Catalog 62 (1992) items 74-76.
