Summary
  1. Jelon Vieira, director of DanceBrazil, presents a lecture-demonstration on Maculele and Capoiera, two Afro-Brazilian dance/martial arts forms. The program is introduced by Liz Thompson, director of Jacob's Pillow. Vieira discusses the history and styles of Maculele and Capoiera, which are demonstrated by the dancers of DanceBrazil. Vieira shows the instruments associated with Capoeira and answers questions from the audience, discussing Capoiera as an art form; how it is passed down; the chants that accompany dances; and the color-coded levels of mastery.
