The lesson from the "Antifonario Arcivescovile" of Florence (12th cent.) was chosen for the first scene, and the sequence "Victimae paschali laudes" in the expanded version in dialogue from the "Laudario Fiorentino" (13th cent.) was chosen for the second scene. For scene one, the trope is placed in its original context, the Office of Matins for Easter.
