Summary
  1. Part of The Studies Project, an ongoing series of discussions, performances, and other presentations. After screening video excerpts of their works, performance artists Brian Moran and Julie Tolentino discuss why they employ extreme elements such as cutting and bloodletting onstage; the additional layers of meaning created by the awareness of H.I.V. infections and AIDS; audience reactions. The video excerpts, shown on a monitor, are small-scaled and somewhat indistinct. The discussion is opened to the audience at ca. 61 min. into the tape.
