The first program, Speaking freely, contains a conversation between Maxwell Anderson, Ken Paulson and Hans Haacke, filmed at the First Amendment Center. Haacke discusses his artwork and the controversies surrounding it, social activism and free speech in relation to art in Europe and America. The second program is an episode of Egg: the art show, on the subject of art activities in the American desert. The program contains three segments: a visit by art critic Michael Kimmelman to Donald Judd's museum in Marfa, Texas; a report on art displays in Las Vegas; and a report on the Burning Man Festival, including interviews with participants. The third program is Merce by Merce by Paik, a videodance and documentary originally telecast by WNET in 1978. The last program is a report on Paradise now, an exhibition on artistic responses to the genetic revolution held at Exit Art, Sept. 9-Oct. 28, 2000.
