Haacke discusses his artwork and the controversies surrounding it, social activism and free speech in relation to art in Europe and America. The second program is an episode of Egg: the art show, on the subject of art activities in the American desert. The program contains three segments: a visit by art critic Michael Kimmelman to Donald Judd's museum in Marfa, Texas; a report on art displays in Las Vegas; and a report on the Burning Man Festival, including interviews with participants. The third program is Merce by Merce by Paik, a videodance and documentary originally telecast by WNET in 1978. The last program is a report on Paradise now, an exhibition on artistic responses to the genetic revolution held at Exit Art, Sept. 9-Oct. 28, 2000.
