Summary
  1. This program was part of a series of films relating to Merce Cunningham shown on MetroArts/Thirteen. The program begins with an interview in which Cunningham discusses the making of the choreographic works CRWDSPCR and Walkaround time, and mentions his current works in progress. The 1993 film CRWDSPCR documents the making of the piece, including footage of Cunningham directing studio rehearsals and working with Life Forms computer software; comments by dancers Banu Ogan, Frédéric Gafner, Kimberly Bartosik and Jean Freebury about the difficulties of learning Cunningham's choreography; comments from costume designer Mark Lancaster and composer John King about their work for the piece; and comments from Cunningham about using Life Forms, and about the daily routine of his company. Walkaround time was filmed in performance in 1973.
