  1. 1 videodisc (DVD) (112 min.) : sd., col.; 4 3/4 in.
Summary
  1. Lecture from Robert Wilson and Suzushi Hanayagi followed by a demonstration and a question-and-answer session. Wilson begins by explaining how it was the dance of George Balanchine and Merce Cunningham, not opera or Broadway, that was his first major influence. Wilson discusses his early collaborators - Raymond Andrews and Christopher Knowles, then draws the structure for Einstein on the beach, and finally discusses collaborating with Suzushi Hanayagi. Hanayagi discusses her training in dance in Japan and in New York City - especially the Judson Church Movement, collaborating with Robert Wilson on The CIVIL warS and on other productions. After their speeches, Hanayagi performs movement to a text read by Wilson, and written by Christopher Knowles. Questions-and-answers with the audience conclude the recording.
