Summary
  1. The first in a series of three plays produced for television, based on a medieval, religious theater form called the mysteries or 'mystery cycles'. The plays, which recount the life of Christ, were first performed at the National Theatre in London in 1985. The remaining two plays, The nativity and The Passion, are available on NCOX 5464 and 5463 respectively.
