Summary
  1. This program features a panel discussion about American Ballet Theatre's female corps de ballet, interspersed with corps rehearsals led by ABT ballet mistress Susan Jones, and by performances of excerpts from two ballets. Jones discusses her background as an ABT corps member, her transition to ballet mistress when she retired from dancing, and her work with choreographer Natalia Makarova on the staging of La Bayadère. The panelists also discuss the difficulty of individual works for corps dancers, and the importance of corps members feeling that they constitute an indispensable part of a work.
