- Description

- Summary
- This program features a panel discussion on the Merce Cunningham dance Biped, preceded by an excerpt from the piece, which combines live dancers with digital images. Panelists discuss the application of computer technology to choreography, specifically the Character Studio software used to capture the dancers' movements, rendering animated three-dimensional images that serve as both notation and as visual counterpoint in Biped. During the panel, the dancers demonstrate the motion capture process in front of a large monitor. The discussion is followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience.
