Presents ideas, strategies, and methods for adding physical dimensions to performance. It traces the history and bases of physical action, considering the influences of Artaud, Stanislavski, and Brecht; offers games and techniques that free the body and generate physical action; explores the relationship between text and action; covers choreographing and scoring physical action; and shows how to use physical theater in the classroom.
