  1. CD 1 (single track) Musical talk show on which Andre Kostelanetz speaks with Robert Sherman about works he has commissioned which are discussed, then auditioned. Kostelanetz speaks first of Rip van Winkle from Ferde Grófe's Hudson river suite; then the Magic prison (letters of Emily Dickinson set to music by Ezra Laderman and Archibald MacLeish); Kostelanetz then recalls violin prodigy Michael Rabin; Kostelanetz speaks of his discussions with Aaron Copland, Virgil Thomson, and Jerome Kern about commissioning works, and we hear Kern's Mark Twain portrait (incomplete, recording continues on CD 2).
