Description
  1. 1 videodisc (DVD) (93 min.) : sd., col.; 4 3/4 in.
Summary
  1. The last in a series of four programs devoted to the life and career of Katharine Hepburn. Hosts Dick Cavett and Marian Seldes read from Hepburn's correspondence, including several notes from Theresa Helburn related to Hepburn's stage work for the Theatre Guild, letters from various agents and producers attempting to interest her in projects, notes from playwright Enid Bagnold, and a letter from actor James Cagney. Cavett and Seldes, both of whom knew Hepburn, share their memories of her, and also discuss her relationship with actor Spencer Tracy. The program ends with a twenty minute video of an interview Cavett conducted with Hepburn at her New York home in 1984. The focus of the conversation is a consideration of stage acting versus screen acting, with particular emphasis on Philip Barry's play The Philadelphia story, in which Hepburn starred first on Broadway and then in the subsequent film version.
