Richard Boone speaks with Don McDonagh about seeing Martha Graham at the Neighborhood Playhouse; taking classes with Graham as a G.I.; being thrilled by the energy in Graham's classes; Graham's explanations of body movement and expression; typical classes given by Graham at the Neighborhood Playhouse; Graham's physical attributes, and her lack of traditional beauty; Graham's reverance for Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn; Louis Horst, and his influence on Graham; Graham's classes, and the influence they had on him; Primitive mysteries, and the way that Graham was unburdening herself of early dances; his belief that Graham's early works were unbalanced; not being close to Graham socially.
