Summary
  1. This documentary interweaves contemporary interviews and archival film footage to examine the social phenomenon of the "flapper," the provocative "New Woman" ideal of America's Roaring Twenties. It traces the historical developments which gave shape to the flapper ideal, explores the ways in which the flapper rebelled against prevailing social mores and considers the contradictions and limitations which underlie the flapper's independent, carefree lifestyle.
