Description

Summary
  1. Bold color and African music enliven this animated tale about Hippo who longed to live in the water instead of dry land. Sitting on the riverbank, the hot hippo gazed at the fish and envied their life in the cool waters. Approaching the mountain god Ngai who assigns the animals, fish and birds to their proper habitats, Hippo pleaded with the deity to allow him to live in the river and streams. Worried that the huge animal would consume all his fish, Ngai agreed but warned Hippo that he would inspect his mouth whenever he wished. He also commanded the creature to emerge at night and eat grass. With tail wagging and mouth open, Hippo assured Ngai of his trustworthiness and so became an animal with two habitats.
