- Summary
- DiAna's Hair Ego is a salon in South Carolina where AIDS information is dispensed along with hair styling and beauty tips. DiAna, its outgoing proprietor, reacted to the AIDS crisis by sending away for materials concerning the disease and sharing the information with her clients who also get free condoms on their visits. To reach an even wider audience, DiAna founded the South Carolina AIDS Education Network (SCAEN) which produces informative brochures and educational videotapes. In addition, DiAna lectures with partner Dr. Bambi Sumpter in churches, conducts safe sex parties and formulates programs for children.
